Schengen visa for naturalized Irish Citizen's spouse

Hi All,

Just a quick question , I know I should double check with the embassy.

1. I am a naturalized Irish Citizen , can my wife and kid travel with my to Europe without shcengen visa ?

They are both currently living in Ireland with me.

No. They would need Schengen visa irrespective of whether you travel with them or not. However, you dont need to pay for visa fees for any schengen country or the UK.

Thanks for the reply stealthindian. I presume its has to be pre arranged and on arrival does not work. Ok. Thanks. Do you know if Irish residence permits explicitly say spouse of EU citizen , my wife doesn't have it but came across this question on Dutch embassy website. The Visa requirements is waived if it explicitly says EU citizen spouse on irp.

You are referring to Stamp 4 EU FAM resident permit, which is not provided to spouses of Irish citizens. Hence you would need to follow the same process of acquiring the Schengen visa, just that there is no fees required.
