Renewing Stamp-1 before Changing Employer

Hi,

I am on a CSEP valid for 2 years from MAR-2018 till MAR-2020. I have commenced my employment with my first and current employer in JUN-2018.

I have 2 questions to get clarity on.

1. When it is 12 months completed for me to be eligible to change jobs? Is it the date on CSEP in MAR-2019 (or) the date i commenced employment in JUN-2019?

2. As per law, i believe we cannot apply for a new CSEP until 12 months is elapsed with the first employer. Applying for a new CSEP and getting it processed might take time and it might cause problems with my Stamp-1 renewal time frame. My Stamp-1 is valid till JUL-2019. So I would like to renew it with my current CSEP by this May/June before i request my new Employer to initiate a new CSEP with DBEI. Is that alright? I hope no problems will arise once i renew my Stamp-1 and then apply for a new CSEP with a different employer? Please confirm.

1. March 2019, after renewing your IRP card.
2. If your CSEP is valid from Mar 2018 to Mar 2020, your first renewal will come up on March, not June. Please double check for the expiry date in your IRP. The rest of your point is fine.

Hi Bala,

On the first point, i phoned the DBEI office and they are saying it is the start of my employment in June and not March.
Also the Date of issue of my first Stamp-1 IRP card is 25/07/2018 and it is valid until 25/07/2019.

I believe things have changed now!
