Clock reset for stamp4

Post by coolguy_19841 » Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:38 pm

Hello,
I am on stamp 1 with Critical skill employment. I got a new job and the new company has applied for new CSEP. My last day with my present organization will be October 31st. I am eligible for stamp 4 in March 2019. As the new application is processing and it may come in January will I have to serve 21 months again to get the stamp 4 or the time period until which I worked until october end 2018 will be considered? Will the clock reset to 0 months if there is 2months gap from one job to the another? I tried to find this information here in this forum but couldn't get it. It will be of great help if you can let me know.

Thanks

You are eligible for St. 4 provided you were on CSP for 21 months. I doesn't matter if the permits were associated with different employers during these 21 months period. So you are good to go.

I am not sure if the statement is true .my friend on a CPEC was shifted from sister concern of the same company and when he applied for the stamp 4 it was rejected given the reason that he has not completed 21 months with same business .
they have now refiled the application with a stammer from Hr that both the business re same .
for Stamp 4 you require a letter from your current employer with your start date and position and they might ask you for the gap .

best would be to contact them and then take action

I am more worried about the gap. What if I have 2months gap from my last day in my present organization to the first day in my new organization? During those 2 months no pay slip will be generated. Will it affect my stamp 4 which I am eligible in March 2019? Kindly let me know.

Please refer page 4 and pg 32 on https://dbei.gov.ie/en/What-We-Do/Workp ... mits/FAQs/

The question is mentioned on page 4:

7.1.4 Can I apply for a Support Letter for a Stamp 4 if I am on my second Critical Skills Employment Permit?

I think now the question is what would be considered as 'significant' by dbei.

Hi,

Could you please let us know if you had that 2 months gap (or) and managed to get the support letter from DBEI ?

I am in the same situation now, and i have to take 2 months gap before joining the new Employer.

One of my friend who changed the company and had 20 days of gap in between critical skills got the stamp 4 with no issues. I have applied for my stamp 4 and waiting for the same. Hopefully by next month I should have a definite answer. It is always good to have a good supporting letter explaining the situation may help. I did the same. Lets see what happens next. Fingers crossed.

At last I got my stamp 4 with no hassles at all. So I will explain my situation.... I lost my job in Nov 2018 and got a new permit with new company in January 2019 so I had 45 days of gap in between the jobs. So during the gap I have informed djei that I have been made redundant and in return they replied back saying you will have 6months of time to get a job. So I finished my 20months on April 2 so I applied for my stamp 4 with a proper cover explaining the gap along with my P60 and P45. Few days back I got my stamp 4 with out any queries.... Hope it helps someone..

Hi,

@coolguy_19841
You informed DJEI through email about your loss of employment?

And before you found a new job in Jan 2019, i presume you still had a valid Stamp 1 got through first CSEP ? and changed your Stamp 1 with new CSEP before applying for Stamp 4 support letter in april ?

Thanks for your valuable inputs.
