Re: Used Cars - Recommendations
i would steer away from adverts.ie. they are good for buying small items not cars. same thing with donedeal. others might have a diferent opinion.
carzone.ie and carsireland.ie are good sites to start.
most dealers will offer 3-6 months on older cars,
on some models like Hyundai, Renault you will be able to transfer left over warranty from manufacturer.

you will have to get sorted out on insurance as well. if you are on Indian license, then only few insurers will give insurance, and it will be quite expensive.
Re: Used Cars - Recommendations
Can we get car loans for buying used cars?
Do we need to have a savings account to apply for loan?

I was looking at Carzone.ie most of the time, will try to check on the cardsireland as well.
Trying to get in touch with closet car dealers to see if there any available options.

If you are banking with AIB or Bank of Ireland, apply for the loan through their bank app and don't go for the dealership loans. Get the amount credited on your account. Go to the dealer and book the car in cash price. Don't opt of any additional packages like paint protection etc. Just pay only for the car. You can negotiate the price with the dealer and most of the people don't know that. Also, tell them you got another deal already done for low price. Tell them you can pay them on the spot if they agree for lowering the price. One of my friends got a 2015 Merc E class for 21K instead of 24K by doing this.
Also, you can pre-close the loan with the bank easily if you do this. In AIB, you can do this through the app itself.

Hi bala,
Many thanks for your response and inputs. This is very helpful. If we have the cash on hand then it should be easier for the negotiation. I don't have account with AIB ,but I have it with KBC. As KBC was easier to me when moved in recently to the country with less documents available. May be I will check with my bank if they can do that.
Sorry I missed your response for a while and noticed that today only.

Thanks. Of course, you can check with the bank. KBC has the interest rate of 6.3% for KBC current account holders, which is one of the lowest in Ireland after Anpost.

Thank you very much

Re: Used Cars - Recommendations
1. Go for AXA insurance if you have experience of driving in any country. They'll give insurance with Irish learner permit or Indian full license. They also consider imported used cars from UK, Japan.
2. Many dealer give customized tenure warranty with extra cost
3. Recently I bought Japanese Honda Jazz 2013, 1.3 hybrid, automatic, 65k miles, 3 months warranty at 5700+ 360km car transport at 250 + AXA insurance for couple at 1600 ( my learner permit+ spouse has Indian license).
