Hi ,

She can study medicine in ireland -Visit RCI site for all details:
https://www.rcsi.com/dublin/undergraduate

only issue which needs to be referred for Indian /non EU student is the fees content-

For EU citizens:
Total fees (for academic year 2018/2019) €3,890

For Non EU:
Non-EU Medicine tuition fees €55,000
NUI fee* (once-off charge) €135
Total fees (for academic year 2019/20) €55,135
plus Other expenses-(assuming 1000 per month)- €12000

Total -67,000€ or approx 54-55 lacs INR per annum
so 5 years program will cost around 2.5 crore INR.

Plus till now , there is total lack of clarity for Irish educated doctors OCIs moving back to India to practice- as Indian Gov announced on one hand to exempt IRISH educated OCIs from otherwise mandatory Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE),but however it is yet to come in practice.
Hope it helps

Hi,

Thank for the detailed information.

In My case: my brother has finished his MBBS degree and also he has finished 1 year practice in India. He would like to come for a specialization in Ireland and then he would like to work here.

Can you please tell me the process for this : I have gone through some colleges websites, they only mentioned the Non EU undergraduate courses. Is he eligible to join the Post graduation(Specialization) in Ireland.

There is no clear information regarding this. Kindly requesting you to answer this.

Regards,
Vishnu.

Hi Vishnu,

As Indian medical degrees are not directly recognised by EU nations, similar to EU degrees not directly recognised by MCI and we have clear MCI clearance exam to practice in India.Similarly we need to clear Irish exam to study further MS etc :

https://www.medicalcouncil.ie/Education/

In UK: many people come from India to appear for clearance exams but not so much in ireland- hence requires some detailed analysis over net.
