Ministry of External Affairs suspicious call

Post by Vivi_992 » Tue Oct 23, 2018 8:28 am

Hi All,

I got a call this morning at work on my personal phone by someone claiming he was from the Ministry of External Affairs. As soon as I realized he was putting on an accent, I had to cut the call. I googled the number and it came from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Ireland. Was I right to cut the call or has anyone else experienced these suspicious calls?

Thank you,
Vik

Were you expecting any calls from DFA? If not, just ignore it as a spam call. I encourage you to report it to Garda though, so that they don't disturb you again!

Hi Zeno,

I wasn't expecting a call from the DFA. If they were, why would they address themselves as someone from the "ministry of external affairs " in the beginning?

Probably a spam call. Will report it to Garda.

Thanks though!

pls report to Guards, also record the call if it repeat.

I was called by an Indian (voice) claiming from Revenue and asking for card details for refunding tax.
I reported to revenue anyway.
