Re: Need clarifications on moving from Bangalore to Dublin

+1 to do not move. With your lifestyle at that package it would need 200k ++ to match here in Dublin. Outside the package the taxes will reduce in hand to peanuts and then the exponential cost here kills everything else. Given you an example I am at 220k(and 2 kids) and already thinking of moving b...

Re: Moving from Bangalore to Dublin

Upside: Better/Western lifestyle, Good people. Downside: Expensive. You can only save around 500 Euros per month after tax if you are going to move to Dublin after calculating all the benefits and after all expenses including the house, transport. You can use this calculator to calculate your tax. h...

Re: Opinion if we are to move back to India

If the kids are in primary school, it is ok to move and kids can adjust with the education system over there. But if they are in secondary school, don't do that. It is very hard for them to adjust. Allow them to study here.

Re: Opinion if we are to move back to India

Hi everyone, I need your opinion on one thing. My wife (over 5 years on stamp 3+ stamp4) and I (over 5 years on stamp 1+ stamp4) are eligible for Irish citizenship. We may move back to India after 2 or 3 years and we are not sure if both of us should apply for Irish citizenship or only one of us. I...

Re: Looking for pointers in moving to Dublin from Bangalore

Don't move to Ireland if you are keen to earn the same here. You are not going to get the salary comparing to what you are getting in India. Even if you are getting the same or more, You cannot save much here comparing to your salary in India. For example, If you are getting 120000 Euros per year(ve...

Re: Passport Validity and GNIB Renewal

You have to pay 300 Euros. It will not be free. Because your IRP is registered based on the passport, they have to register your new passport and reissue the GNIB card. You can renew the passport one year before the expiry date. So, renew it and then renew the GNIB. It's no brainer.

Re: Confusion about private and public healthcare ?

1. The insurance companies won't cover for the pre-existing conditions for 5 years. But you can Pay cash if needed. 2. In emergency, the HSE will always provide the services for you. But to visit a paediatrician, you have to wait for even months. That's why most of the people opt for private healthc...

Please don't get the insurance just for the IRP. Get a good plan that covers all the family and the treatment option in Private hospitals.

Re: USA - B or L or H visa from US Consulate in Dublin

B1/B2 visa is fairly easy to get. All you need is to live here or work here. You can make an online application and schedule the appointment. Then you have to visit the embassy in Dublin to get the visa.
